Rep. Joel McEntire speaks against limited law enforcement vehicular pursuit bill during House debate

Rep. Joel McEntire, R-Cathlamet, speaks against Senate Bill 5352 during House floor debate late Tuesday night on April 11.

Senate Bill 5352 would allow police pursuits of those suspected of committing a violent crime, a sex offense, domestic violence-related offenses, vehicle assault, driving under the influence, and trying to escape arrest. McEntire and his seatmate Rep. Jim Walsh voted “no” on the bill, saying it does not make the necessary changes people were asking for and the crime problem will continue.
